Juggler’s Art Space
[ Event > The Valley ]

Jugglers Art Space Inc. is a not for profit organization founded in 1998, that later took up residence in the hub of Brisbane’s art and music scene, Fortitude Valley. The team behind this project hold regular events and workshops to inspire artists to further their skill set.
Located at 103 Brunswick Street, ‘The Valley’, Jugglers Art Space Inc. has 7 subsidised non-residential studios that are available for artists to lease for up to two years at a time. There is also E’merj Contemporary, a modern art space available for rising residential and non-residential artists to hold exhibitions with up to 100 square meters of wall space.
There are two indoor gallery and performance spaces at Jugglers - Emerj Contemporary [upstairs] and Red [downstairs]. Red is the space young emerging artists can exhibit in and in some cases, have their exhibition sponsored by people who are part of the support network. Emerj is the next phase for artists with total costs kept to a minimum.
The funded graffiti projects that Jugglers has begun aims to develop young street and graffiti artists with a long term mentoring program that exposes these young people to canvas painting, screen printing, health issues and setting up a business.
When: Gallery open Wednesday to Friday 10am-5pm or by appointment

His business is going so well in fact, that he barely had time to answer our questions in full! We certainly didn’t mind as he gives us an express low-down on his fashion-world.

Tom Talks WestEnd Fashion
[ Article > West End ]

As you step off the bustling street, through wide glass doors and onto shimmering white tiles, you are surrounded by only the best in designer Italian shoes and clothing. Outside, and 50m down the street, an op shop bargain bin declares “All items $1”. Brisbane’s West End is a suburb of contrasting cultures and classes, and there is no doubt that its fashion reflects that.
